Turkey - 'KarayaÄızım'['My Black Devil'] - Arabesk Song - Ebru GündeÅ - 2000

Turkey - 'Karayağızım'['My Black Devil'] - Arabesk Song - Ebru Gündeş - 2000
EBRU GÜNDEŞ - 'THE LAST GREAT MIDDLE EASTERN SINGER' is probably a fair way to place the voice of EBRU GÜNDEŞ in The Modern History of The Middle East. 'MY BLACK DEVIL' [lyrics in English] Where did my mind blow - when listening to this song? While I was saying I had forgotten - I was missing you as much as this? I was modelling the pain on me like flames. Again, our seperation came to my mind, to my heart - it dropped. My Black Devil, this fate etched in my forehead. The pain does not stop, I am lonely without you, lonely. The troubles are impossible - love is wrong for me. You are no longer you, nor are you here anymore. I will never recover. Like Arab neighbour countries, Turkey's Youth are smashing the traditions, tending not to learn traditional instruments, but worship the guitar or keyboard. Even a decade ago, this wa! s sadly highlighted on Turkish Television in an appeal to Turkish Youth by famous Folk Singer BELKIS AKKALE who said, "Where are the young people to follow me? I am an old woman now. I cannot go on singing forever. Young Turks, throw away your guitars and keyboards and learn our Turkish Traditional Instruments and Singing. Only we Turks can make this Turkish Music. If you do not continue this music it will be lost forever..." For the Middle Eastern Youth everything seems to have to be 'Americana' and nothing ...
